Up and coming UK indie-pop act, Jamws, shares new single, ‘Catalina’

South London based indie act, Jamws, shared a new single ‘Catalina’, a debut for the artist. Previously a part of the band Waking Aida, Jamws started as a bedroom producer and has since taken to stages across London at places like (amongst others) Oslo, the Victoria and The Waiting Room earlier in the year.

The new single, ‘Catalina’, is a piano filled alt-pop track that will make you bop along as the synths effortlessly floats across the driving and laidback beat. While the tender vocals from Jamws carry you forward, you can’t help but think this is the perfect Sunday-chillout track to have a relaxing day to.

If this is the first release Jamws has to offer, then I’m very excited to see what the future holds for this up and coming UK act!

On ‘Catalina’, Jamws said: “This is my first ever straight-up pop song. I have a habit of overthinking the things I write and can lose track of the emotion I’m trying to create but Catalina came naturally. When I was writing the music I’d think a lot about Chance the Rapper and Anderson .Paak, I felt really drawn to an optimistic summer gospel, hip hop sound. The lyrics and melody just fell out of me, I didn’t think about the words so much but they just felt right.”

AVEC shares music video starring actress Runa Hansen for single ‘Under Water’

The 22-year old Austrian Indie darling, AVEC, has shared a stellar music video for her latest single ‘Under Water’ released via EarCandy Recordings. Taken from her newly released album Heaven / Hell (released 14 September) the music video has already seen massive success as the views soar in numbers each day.

It’s easy to understand why, as the video stars Runa Hansen in a dramatic, but sometimes difficult to watch journey through self-exploration and overcoming difficult hardships. Beautiful and sad at the same time, this might be one of the most gripping music videos to be released this year.

Commenting on the latest single, AVEC states, “I think the song ‘Under Water’ is the most honest one I’ve ever written so far. The line “breathing underwater“ perfectly describes the pain and the struggle of being honest with yourself and being honest with everybody else. It hurts, and you might hurt people by being honest, but it’s the only way to keep on going; to get through whatever you’re dealing with – be honest, stay honest and be true to yourself, otherwise those feelings and thoughts will eat up your mind!

Speaking on the music video, she adds, “When I first saw the video for ‘Under Water’ – filled with so many emotions and despair, I got goosebumps all over my body, because it just moved me so much, I can’t even describe it. I love it, I love the whole idea of it and I absolutely love the scenes they shot underwater – she is such an amazing actress!”

Brooklyn-based indie-rockers Native Sun reveal new single from forthcoming EP

Brooklyn-based rockers Native Sun’s announce new EP, Always Different, Always The Same. They also premiered the first single “Big Succ(ess)”. When talking about the track the band states, “Big Succ(ess)” sheds light on the empowerment of the immigrant experience and identity. The ability to utilize oppression and detriment to breed passion.”

Loud and urgent, their music is bred by the beautiful chaos born of a first-generation passion and drive. In our time of division, the four-piece brings their contexts into the forefront…unabashedly reimagining through their (mostly) brown mouths, the sound of white Americana owned by the Lous, Bobs, and Iggys.

Stream “Big Succ(ess)” by Native Sun below
Frontman Dany Gomez met lead guitarist Jake Pflum as a kid in Florida. Life led them apart and reunited them on a random evening in the city. They rekindled their friendship over their mutual obsession with The Rolling Stones, VU, T. Rex, Neil Young, etc. Immediately, they forced their bestfriend Alexis Castro to pick up the drum sticks. Bassist Mo Martinez came to them at the height of 2016’s turmoil after uprooting from Monterrey, Mexico and naturally completed the band’s lineup (accompanied with sporadic appearances on keys from Detroit’s favorite mystic child Juju Anderson) … thus the swindle continues.

Look out for more from Native Sun in the forthcoming months!

Multi-Instrumentalist and acclaimed composer Theodore announces new album and shares new single

Multi-instrumentalist and composer Theodore has just premiered his newest single, “Disorientation” via NPR Music which will be released on the 28th September and prepares cascading LP Inner Dynamics for the 2nd November.

Following the release of last atmospheric and stirring singles “Towards? (for what is to come)” and “Spit Blood Out (Single Version)”, the Greek performer has already garnered considerable success with his previous album It Is But It’s Not which was co-produced by Clive Martin (Queen, Reef), mixed by Ken Thomas (Sigur Rós, Moby, M83), and performed live at the fabled Studio 2 at Abbey Road Studios.

The multi-talented musician’s newest album was completed in May this year, was recorded in a whopping number of different studios, and mastered at Soundgarden in Hamburg, who have worked with huge names such as Franz Ferdinand and Gossip.
With nearly 2 million Youtube views, Theodore has supported Sigur Ros and DIIV at Release Festival, graced the stages of Reeperbahn Festival – where he was named Best Performance Of 2017, performed at Eurosonic Noorderslag and showcased his talents at this years SXSW Festival – where he was picked as NPR Music‘s ‘SXSW 2018: Favorite Discoveries And Memorable Moments’.

Theodore has received support from tastemaker publications such as CLASH Mag, Music Week, Tsugi, FGUK, Gaffa and Szene, and radio play from the likes of BBC Radio 6 Music’s Lauren Laverne, while his single “Towards? (for what is to come)” is currently playlisted on renowned national radio stations NPR All Songs 24/7 Music (USA) and Flux Passport Approved (Germany).

Theodore’s talent truly shines in ‘Disorientation’. As the title suggests, you would think that the listener will become disoriented trying to take in all of the elements contained in the track, but it’s quote the opposite. Tinged with little snippets of calm, the song exudes a sense of euphoria only to be balanced out with the crazy world we find ourselves in. If this is but a preview of what’s to come, we it’s seems to be a safe bet that Theodore’s upcoming LP Inner Dynamics (released 2nd November) will be a release that any sophisticated music fan will have to mark down in their calendars

Inner Dynamics LP Tracklist:
01 Towards
02 Disorientation
03 For a While
04 Alcyone
05 Naive
06 Floating
07 Not For You
08 Spit Blood Out
09 More Than One
10 Fluttering

Austrian Indie-Rock band, At Pavillon, releases energetic new single ‘Lions’

Austrian four-piece At Pavillon have released an energetic new indie-rock track, ‘Lions’ from their upcoming Lions EP set to be released this coming Friday via LasVegas Records. Their previous records have seen them soar to success across Europe, earning them spots at acclaimed festivals like Frequency as well as receiving a considerable amount of airplay on European stations and television.

A track about strength and pride, At Pavillon delivers pure power in ‘Lions’. It’s their most powerful track to date and it’s certainly a song that will make any listener dance along, becoming one with each individual dancing along, becoming part of a bigger self; a pride. The pure energy that radiates from At Pavillon’s performance can be compared to that of The Kooks or Vampire Weekend, but with a more light-hearted approach.

If ‘Lions’ is just a small speck of what we can expect from At Pavillon’s upcoming EP, then we should all prepare for a time when the full pride goes hunting.
